A Time to Believe
A Time to Believe
"There is a time for everything under the sun."
John 10:24-30
24 The Jews gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name speak for me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
At the time in which I am writing this to you all, I have already taken a long hard look at myself and the world around me. The following words will reflect not only the mirrored image I am holding of myself but also the visual images I see around my family and me in the midst of this world.
Before I begin with a detailed description of the world around me I have to ask the question, “what do I believe is happening to me as I live out my life in this world?” The answer to that question may be obvious to those who know me closely, but no one really knows better than God and me, as to what my inner world is comprised of. What I am about to share with you about myself, only a limited few know, so should the question arise, “should this information be shared with others,” well, I will leave that to your discretion. In fact it is my intention, that you share this testimony to as many as will read or listen. To help answer the question above, I had to take a long hard look inside and ask myself, “What are your beliefs?” My response should be of no surprise to those who know me well. I can only respond to that question one way, “I believe in God.” Furthermore, “I believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as Lord and Savior of my life and my soul.” The next question is asked to specify my exact belief, of who Christ is. I ask myself, “Who do you believe Jesus Christ is and what did he do to make you believe this about him?” Jesus Christ is known by many names but I believe, ultimately that he is one part of the three part God head. In short, he is not just the Son of God but he is God. Jesus paid the costly price for my sin by dying on the Cross and established this new hope for all by becoming the first fruit that rose from the grave in the resurrection of life. He truly accomplished his Father’s will in his physical form. I mentioned earlier that God has three forms that make up the God head but let me elaborate further. The God head is comprised of; “The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Let me be even more specific what this means to me. “God is a Father figure, God is a Son figure and God is a Spirit figure.” Sorry ladies, but the only way God makes reference to being a Mother figure, is by comparing his unfailing love for all his children, to a mother which loves hers. In which we all know, in most cases, this is an irrefutable fact of life. Here is where you ladies score big time. Your love for your children is like the glue that holds the entire family together. So in other words, “The Triune Godhead and body (His children), is completely held together with a mother’s type of love.” That puts a whole new meaning on the phrase, “No body loves me like Momma does.”
Aside from all the cute little catch phrases on Momma’s love, I have to say, “I believe this is a pure and graceful, more forgiving kind of love and can only be perceived through a mother’s heart.” As a dad in this world, I can only imagine and attempt in a short sighted manner, to compare my love for my children with their mothers love. We all know Momma keeps the home and children, and Dad brings home the bacon and his smelly shoes. Seriously though, everyone knows Momma’s love is also reinforced by Daddy’s hand. This to, is a form of love, that not to many people agree with anymore. That is a child has to be taught sometimes through tough love. “Do I believe in spanking a child?” “Well that’s an easy one.” If a kid is acting bad and has been warned at least three times well then that child may need corporal punishment. I mean, if time-outs aren’t working then you should consider spanking the child on the bottom. Only, “please make sure you are not angry at the time when using this form of punishment.” At this, you may ask, “Why would anyone use violence to teach a child to be good?” My response to that question can only be answered in question form, as the following. “Why would God allow one of his children to continue living a life without stern consequences, knowing they would not only spoil their lives but further corrupt the world with their wicked practices?” I mean the basic question should not be, “why are you so harsh to the child who naturally misbehaves,” but, “why aren’t you doing your part as a parent to naturally discipline your child, who instinctively misbehaves?”
In order to protect him or her from becoming spoiled and later possibly corrupt, you must use tough love, a Father’s kind of love, which carries a reasonable amount of judgment on the child for mistakes that could be prevented. We all know there are three types of love, Agape, Phileo, and Eros. That’s Godly, Brotherly, and Romantic/Sensual love. Although God’s love is unconditional in the sense that he can love anyone in spite of what mistakes a person may have committed, God is a righteous God whose mercy and grace can only be attained from repentant individuals who believe in His Son. So what are the conditions that would put you in a position for a certain judgment of God? Although God loves unconditionally, He can not allow sin to be present in his kingdom. Therefore God allows mankind to make up there own minds, as to whom or what they will serve. “Are you a good man?” “Are you a good woman?” “Do you help others by fulfilling their needs, and do you believe that is enough to save you from certain punishment for your sins?” The most important question to answer is, “do you believe in God?” There is only one God that can save you through his Son Jesus Christ. There is no other name under Heaven that can save you.
Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved .
So the underlying question here is, “do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?”
We have now arrived at a crossroads in this discussion. The following questions will help determine what direction we should pursue next. When will you come to believe in God? Are you an atheist, I feel sorry for you. Are you an agnostic? It’s time to believe in Jesus Christ. I pray for all who are lost in this world and who may be blind to God’s Truth. If you could read my testimony as well as many countless Christian’s testimonies in this world, you would soon discover why we have decided to follow Jesus. We believe mostly because he has revealed His Love for us in our hearts. There are many ways God has revealed Himself to me as well as, many countless others. Jesus loves you too. Behold, God is knocking on your heart’s door right now, this is, “A Time to Believe.”
Revelation 3:20 KJV Behold , I stand at the door, and knock : if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
2 Corinthians 6:2 KJV (For he saith , I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold , now is the accepted time; behold , now is the day of salvation.)
We are living in the last days no matter what age you are right now. No one knows when the Lord will come. The important thing to keep in mind is, that he is coming and we need to be ready. Don’t let this world rule you. No pleasure in this world is worth giving up your soul for. Stop coveting. This life was never meant to be your eternal home. Heaven is where the Lord is and you can have that in your heart right now.
Ask Jesus to forgive you for all your sins, to come into your heart and to save you. He will do it, if you are sincere and remorseful for your disbelief. It takes time to heal as well as to grow, so his grace is sufficient for you. Take time to read the Holy Bible and go to a Church where you can be taught the Word of God. You need to fellowship with other Believers as it helps to get their wisdom and their friendship. May the Lord our God fill you with His Holy Spirit and Truth, and may you be blessed as you grow in Him.
Again this is, “A Time to Believe.”
In Christ,
